Latinia promotes its support unit with ITIL Foundation Certificates

Latinia, a software infrastructure development company, has just obtained ITIL Foundations certificates for all of its Support team as well as Service Manager for its Unit manager. This coincided with the week during which the first ITIL Conference held outside of England took place, in Barcelona. According to Carlos Moreno, Latinia’s Operations Manager, this certification “gives the company a new competitive edge, in this case, within the service provision framework. During the software product’s lifecycle, the operations phase is increasingly taking on more of a leading role in time and in resources. Therefore, the efficiency in IT service management is essential and critical, both for customers and providers.”

Developed in late eighties, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) has become the world standard in Information Services Management. The ITIL was developed in tandem with the thrust and clout that IT was taking on in processes that were increasingly more critical in the heart of companies. This increasing dependence yielded a growing need for a supply of quality services (IT) that match up with the functional supply of products sold and the implementations made.

The conference, attended by Latinia and organized by the itSMF, serves as a place for meeting and debate among the service providers and companies interested in good IT practices. Different leading figures met there such as Pilar del Castillo, Honorary President and Ex Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, giving attendees the chance to have a more direct vision of what ITIL is and how important it is for companies’ support staff to have ITIL certification.
